Sandra Hendren Cordova Services: 10 a.m. today a Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Tucumcari. Sandra Hendren Cordova, 58, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2006, in Bremerton, Wash., following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 29, 1947, in Tucumcari to Eloy and Helen Hendren. She was reared in Tucumcari and graduated in 1965 from Tucumcari High School. She attended Highland and Eastern New Mexico universities, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from ENMU. She taught school at Zia Elementary in Tucumcari and later worked for the Department of Human Services in Tucumcari. Until recently, Mrs. Cordova taught children with special needs at Kitsap Elementary School in Bremerton. In 1980, she married Arturo Cordova who was, at that time, serving in the U.S. Navy. They had made their home in El Paso, Texas; Norfolk, Va.; San Diego, Calif., and for the past 17 years in Bremerton. She is survived by: her husband, Arturo Cordova of Bremerton; a son, Orlando Cordova of Westminister, Colo.; her mother, Helen Hendren; her brothers, Cyrus Hendren of Lemoore, Calif., and Art, Mark and Dean Hendren, all of Tucumcari, Herman (Teresa) Hendren of Los Lunas, Andrew (Mary) Hendren of Loving and James Hendren of Belen; and her sisters Evelyn (Theodor) Cordova of Carlsbad, Kendra (Dan) Regalado and Margaret (B.J.) Andrus, Rose (Jim) Brito, all of Tucumcari. She was preceded in death by a brother, Luther Hendren, and her father, Eloy Hendren. Pallbearers will be Art Hendren, Ernest Cordova, John Cordova, Orlando Cordova and Christopher Cordova. Leo Padget is officiating services. Burial will be at the Hendren Family Ranch Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Eufracia Gutierrez Services: 7 p.m. today a rosary will be recited at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari, and at 11 a.m. Thursday a Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne’s. Eufracia Gutierrez, 80, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Mrs. Gutierrez was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Muleshoe, Texas. A lifelong resident of Tucumcari, she was a homemaker and member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She is survived by: nine children, Sefe Lujan, Wilfred Gutierrez and Patsy Chanbless, all of Amarillo, Texas, Myquela Gutierrez, Fabbie (Ambrose) Mares and Joanna Gutierrez, all of Tucumcari, Theodora Ortiz and Juanita (Aubrey) Linch, both of Rio Rancho, and Angie Rudy of Albuquerque; her sister, Corine Mercado of Fort Collins, Colo.; 25 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Gutierrez, and her husband, Alejandro Gutierrez. Leo Padget is officiating services. Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Rosie M. Vigil Services: Have been held. Rosie Vigil died Aug. 4. She was born Sept. 7, 1973, in Tucumcari. She was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She graduated in 1992 from Tucumcari High School. She was devoted to her family and loved her special pet dogs, Diamond and Bonita, family members said. She is survived by: her parents, Joe I. and Adelina Vigil of Tucumcari; her brother, Robert (Laura) Vigil of Dallas; her grandmother, Felipta Maes of Tucumcari; two nephews, Tanner and Cash Vigil, both of Dallas, and her goddaughter, Alexis Cordova. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, I.G. and Rebecca Vigil, and her maternal grandfather, Delfinio Maes, an uncle, Nick Maes, and her pet Bingo. Pallbearers were Tanya Morales, Monique Gutierrez, Mary Jean Aragon, Leroy Gutierrez, Augustin Maes and Andy Blea. Honorary pallbearers were Fermin Maes, Gilbert Maes, Michael Morales, Martin Maes, Charlie Archuleta, Alving Archuleta and Michael Allen. Leo Padget officiated services. Burial was in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
