Blotter
The following is a sample of calls received by the central dispatch office for Quay County at the Tucumcari police headquarters, during the last few days. According to reports:
Saturday
l At 7:33 a.m., a female reported a runaway juvenile from her residence on School Street. Officers were told that the juvenile may be at a friend’s house. Officers located the juvenile. The parents refused to pick up the juvenile and the child was released to the Children, Youth and Family Services.
l At 9:59 a.m., a female reported a burglary at her residence on South Third. Officers advised someone had broken into the garage and stolen a lawn mower. An investigation is underway.
l At 10:36 a.m., a male reported his dog had bitten a neighbor on South Third. Officers were told that the boy was bitten when he tried to break up a fight between the dog and a cat. The dog was turned over to animal control and was quarantined.
l At 8:36 p.m., a female reported a suspicious vehicle behind a restaurant on East Highway 54. Officers made contact with the subject in the vehicle and were told they were waiting for the person who lived in the trailer behind the restaurant.
l At 10:14 p.m., a female reported possible juveniles drinking at a residence on East Smith. Officers made contact with the subjects at the residence and advised that they were all adults.
Sunday
l At 12:55 a.m., a officer reported an erratic driver who was failing to yield and driving west in the eastbound lane on West Tucumcari Boulevard. One female subject was arrested for DWI.
l At 6:06 a.m., a male reported a male subject had broken into a vehicle at a local fuel stop on Mountain Road. One male subject was arrested for burglary of a vehicle.
l At 6:24 a.m., a female reported possible narcotic use on South Eighth Street. Officers advised that a female subject was cited for possession of marijuana.
l At 10:42 a.m., an abandoned 911 call was received from a residence on South Third. Officers made contact with the residence and advised that all was OK. A child was playing with the phone.
l At 12:07 p.m., officers were requested to come to the Emergency Room Dan Trigg Memorial Hospital. Officers advised they were told an assault had occurred out in the county. The case was turned over to the State Police.
l At 3:31 p.m., a male reported someone had vandalized his vehicle at a motel on East Tucumcari Boulevard. Officers advised that someone had broken a window on the vehicle and that a report was filed.
l At 3:49 p.m., an alarm was reported at a residence on South Eighth. Officers checked the residence. All was OK.
