1 p.m. today at the Dunn Memorial Chapel. Madaline Cain May, 88, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006 at Trigg Memorial Hospital. Mrs. May was born August 31, 1918 in El Paso, Texas. She had been a longtime resident of Bard, where she and her husband, Johnnie B. Cain, owned and operated their ranch. She had been a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. May Was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah’s Lodge and the D.O.E.S. Drove of Tucumcari Elks Lodge 1172. Surviving Mrs. May are her son, Bill (Peggy) Cain of Bard; her daughter, Linda Haldane of San Jon; her grandchildren Johnnie (Patty) Cain, LeeAnn Haldane, Caroline Bailey, Sharon Haldane, Marilyn McKiddie and Margorie Rodger; 14 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother-in-law Arthur (Fern) Cain of Logan. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johnnie Benton Cain in 1978 and by Silas May in 1998, and by an infant daughter, Carolyne Cain. C.L. Bowe will officiate services. Paul Gibson, Franklin Gibson, Johnnie Cain, Steven Cain, Justin Rodgers and Cody McKiddie will be pall bearers. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. ,b>Ruby Mowrer Services: 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Portales. Burial will follow in the Portales Cemetery. Ruby Mowrer, 70, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. She was born April 29, 1936 in Portales to Ida Cleo and Alfred J. “Slick” Cothern. She had spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, George Mowrer of Portales; two sons, Eddy and Jesse Mowrer; and three daughters, Laura Maricle, Ida Haxton, and Bonita Tompkins. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Kathleen M. O'Brien Services: Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Kathleen M. O'Brien, 52, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006 at Trigg Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. O'Brien was born Oct. 8, 1953 in Amityville, N.Y. She had been a resident of the Conchas Dam community for several years prior to her death. Surviving Mrs. O'Brien are: her husband, Ronald S. Chinberg of Conchas Dam; her mother, Eleanor Heaney; two children, Melissa Eavenson and Scott Dante, and her brother, Keith T. Heaney. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Amanda Eavenson, Savanah Dante and Darion Cramer. Following her wishes, Mrs. O’Brien has been cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
