Russell L. Martin Services: Have been held. Russell L. Martin, 91, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2006, at the Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari. Mr. Martin was born April 29, 1915 in Arlington, Texas. He was married to Clara E. Beeson on March 2, 1947 in Winfield, Kan. For many years he farmed in Shamrock, Texas, and later moved to Tucumcari where he farmed and worked for many years at Coopers Market. He had served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic and later as a barber in the Army. Survivors include his wife, Clara of Tucumcari; three sons, Bill Russell Martin of Dallas, Bob (Dawn) Martin of Fort Worth, Texas, and Jim (Lois) Martin of Clark, Mo.; three grandsons, Josh Martin, Brent Martin and Dallas Chase; a granddaughter, Stephanie Chase, and other relatives. Thomas Damour of Amarillo, officiated services. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Gladys O. Smith Services: Will be announced later. Gladys O. Smith, 98, died, Friday, Oct. 13, 2006. She was born in Pittsburgh, Okla. Mrs. Smith was a long time resident of Tucumcari before moving to Albuquerque for health reasons. She had lived in Anchorage, Alaska; Richmond, Calif., and Clayton before moving to Tucumcari. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil J. Smith; a brother, Woodrow Patterson; two sons, Aubrey Nash and Dondal Nash, and a grandson, Charles Nash. Survivors include five granddaughters, Shirley Thompson of Albuquerque, Carol Paradise of Rockwell, Texas, and Karen, Sandy and Kelly Nash of California and four great-grandchildren, Scott and Leslie Thompson and Monty and Ashley Nash. Following her wishes she has been cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
