New Year’s party plans
Logan
Saturday: 8 p.m. to midnight, pre New Years Eve dance music by Julie and The High Mileage, American Legion Hall. $ 25 a couple, $15 per person
Tucumcari
Sunday: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., Dance with music by the Double Shot Band and a New Year’s breakfast, Pow Wow Lizard Lounge. $4 a person.
Sunday: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., New Years Eve dance with music by The Old Molinas Band and New Year’s breakfast, Elks Lodge. $12.50 per person.
Time to get moving
Ready to get resolute? The holidays are nearly over and now we need to get to work on getting in shape for summer.
The “Let’s get moving” program will help you get a head start. It’s designed to give you some easy fun tools for becoming more active.
This program is for people who have diabetes and even those who don’t. The program will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 10 and repeated at 5:15 p.m. in the Extension Office located in the basement of the courthouse.
Learn how to exercise without having to do aerobics. The program is free and open to anyone who is interested. . For more information or if you are in need of an auxiliary service to participate call 461-0562.
On the road to living well with diabetes program
Come to “On The Road To Living Well With Diabetes” and learn about five important tests and the numbers you need to know to prevent complications from diabetes.
While at this educational workshop you will receive your personal results of four medical tests. This is important information that every person with diabetes needs to know.
Two workshops will be held at the Quay County Extension Office in the basement of the Quay County Courthouse at 3 p.m. on Jan. 10 and repeated again at 6:30 p.m.
You must have diabetes to attend and you must pre-register for a time slot. Seating is limited at each session. The workshop and the tests are free.

Jan. 2, renew county occupational licenses
Jan. 2 is the due date for all county businesses located outside of Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon and House to renew their county occupational license for 2007, according to a press release from the Quay County Clerk’s Office.
Businesses have a 30-day grace period in which to purchase the license, therefore, th deadline is Jan. 31, the release said.
If the business is no longer in operation, please advise the Clerk’s Office. If a new business has been established, contact the County Clerk’s Office, 300 South Third Street, Tucumcari, NM, 88401 or call 461-0510 for an application.
