Services: The time and date for a memorial service will announced later. Tom E. McCarty, 68, died suddenly on Monday. Jan. 15, 2007. Mr. McCarty was born Feb. 8, 1938 in Tucumcari. He had lived in Tucumcari for the past 15 years. Mr. McCarty had worked for the federal government as a soil conservationist. He also served in the U.S. Navy and later in the New Mexico National Guard. Surviving Mr. McCarty are his wife, Tina McCarty, of Tucumcari, his son, Ed McCarty of Tucumcari, and a brother, Larry McCarty and his wife of Santa Fe. Following Mr. McCarty's wishes, he has been cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
