Services: 10 a.m., today a memorial service will be held at Dunn Memorial Chapel. Van O. Ard, 72, of Tucumcari died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007, in Amarillo, Texas. Van O. Ard was born March 5, 1935 in Salem, Mo. He had been a master mechanic and a master carpenter, working for a number of years with the Currell Lumber Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving Mr. Ard are his wife Teena Ard of Tucumcari, four sons, Clarence Edward Cooksie and Billy Cooksie, both of Missouri, Mike Cooksie of Virginia an dLarry Cooksie of Tucumcari, three daugthers, Kari Lunn of Utah and Niki Lunn and Barri Utz, both of Tucumcari, and a step daughter Brandi Johnson of Tucumcari. Also surviing are his sister Maxine Capps of Salem, Mo., and 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wes Stewart, pastor of the Temple Baptist, will officiate. Following his wishes, Mr. Ard has been cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
