A Special Hospital Gross Receipts Tax Election will be held on Tuesday, Sept, 18, the Quay County Clerk Ellen White announced in a press release this. Every registered voter in Quay County may participate in this election. Those who are not registered to vote or desire to make a change to their certificate of registration nave until 5 p.m. on Aug. 21, the day the books close. Voters who are not currently registered to vote or recently moved to the area are urged to register by this date, as there is no length of residency requirements in New Mexico. Also if a voter has moved within the county, they are encouraged to bring this information up to date. In addition, Quay residents who will be 18 years of age by election day, Sep. 18, may register to vote in this election. A person can register to vote at the Quay County Clerk's Office, 300 South Third Street in the Quay County Courthouse, or at any of the following locations.
