The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:
Sunday
• At 11 p.m., an officer reported two suspicious subjects behind a retail store on West Route 66. The officer advised that two juveniles were attempting to break into the building. The two juveniles were charged with attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and trespassing. They were released to their parents.
Monday
• At 11:23 a.m., a male reported an attempted burglary at a retail store on East Route 66. An officer advised that someone tried to kick in the back door but no entry was made.
• At 4:50 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on East Tucumcari Boulevard. One female subject was arrested for an outstanding Municipal Court warrant.
• At 7:31 p.m., a female reported a theft on East Rankin Street. An officer advised that an air conditioner had been stolen from the house.
• At 10:47 p.m., a female reported a domestic dispute at a residence on East Turner. An officer advised that they made contact with the residents and all was OK; the problem had been resolved.
Tuesday
• At 12:13 a.m., a male reported a suspicious subject at his residence on East High Street. An officer was told that a male subject was knocking on a window and talking. The officer located the subject and arrested him for concealing his identity and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• At 9:17 a.m., a male reported an attempted burglary at a retail store on East Route 66. An officer advised that someone tried to enter the building through a window and cut themselves leaving blood on the ground.
• At 5:02 p.m., an officer requested a warrant check on a male subject who was stopped on North Fourth Street. The dispatcher reported the male subject had an outstanding warrant from Texas. The male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center.
• At 7:57 p.m., a male reported a suspicious subject at a retail store on East Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised there was a male subject laying on the ground at the side of the building. The officer advised the male subject to move on.
• At 10:56 p.m., a female reported harassment at her residence on East McGee. An officer was told that a male subject was continuing to harass the female despite being told to leave her alone. The officer advised the male subject had left the area prior to their arrival.
Wednesday
• At 12:51 p.m., a female reported a suspicious item at her residence on South Second Street. An officer advised that it was a carbon dioxide cartridge that had already been used.
• At 5:38 p.m., a female reported vandalism at her residence on South Monroe. Two windows had been broken out of the residence, the report said.
Thursday
• At 12:02 a.m., a male reported vandalism on South Monroe Street. An officer advised that the taillight of a vehicle had been broken out.
• At 7:33 a.m., a male reported a theft on West Center Street. An officer was told that someone had siphoned 16 gallons of gasoline from a vehicle.
Friday
• At 1:01 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on South First Street. One male subject was arrested and taken to the Quay County Detention Center for the charge of driving on a revoked license.
