Three Quay County football teams are set for gridiron action on Friday. They are: • The 1A San Jon Coyotes will kick off their 6-man football season at 4 p.m. against the 1A Vaughn Eagles in San Jon. • The 2A Tucumcari Rattlers will host a scrimmage game at 5 p.m. against the 4A Taos Tigers. "We are looking forward to playing against Taos," said coach Dub Smith. "The players are eager for some physical play against another team. Taos is a 4A school and this scrimmage is a great way for us to prepare for our first game of the season against Saint Michael’s of Santa Fe." • The 1A Logan Longhorns will host the 1A Dora Coyotes in a 8-man scrimmage at Logan.
