United Way auction set for Tuesday
Published: Saturday, October 13th, 2007
The Annual Auction by the United Way of Quay County will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Wells Fargo Bank and it will be broadcast on KTNM radio. About 150 items will be auctioned. Participants will be able to bid in person or by phone. Many door prizes also will be available to persons bidding in the bank. A football autographed by Brian Urlacher of the Chicago Bears will be auctioned off in house at the bank. United Way president Doyle Fraiser, officers and directors have worked to make this Auction again a success. All items for auction are on page 5. The United Way of Quay County supports Oasis, EPCAA, Tucumcari Home Health, Hartley House, Helping Hands Hospice, Arts and Humanities, Ministry of Hope, and Saint Vincent de Paul. Proceeds are given to Quay County nonprofit agencies that request and qualify. ALCO stores participate nationwide during the month of October with a Cute Baby Contest. At this time, 19 contestants registered. Last year, Tucumcari raised the highest money in the district in the contest, with over $800. This year, it’s hoped the contest will raise over $1,000 for United Way of Quay County.
