10-24-2007: Fishing Report
Published: Wednesday, October 24th, 2007
This fishing report has been generated from the best information available from officers and anglers. Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, however, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities. Conchas Fishing was slow-to-fair using tubes, worms, grubs, crank baits and spinner baits for largemouth and smallmouth bass. A few walleye were taken by anglers using jig and minnow combinations and grubs. We had no reports on other species. Ute Lake Fishing pressure was light this past week due to windy conditions. However, a few anglers managed to get on the water and they found that fishing was good for walleye and for smallmouth bass. The best walleye action was at 40-to-50 feet and anglers did best using jig and live bait combinations. Fishing for smallmouth bass was good using crank baits across points in 5-to-20 feet of water. We had no reports on other species. If you have a catch of the week story, send it to us at email@example.com. Include date, location, type of fish, length and bait used to catch the fish. This report was complied by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
