Early voting is light

Early voting in Tucumcari’s election for city commissioners is light, said City Clerk Jeannette Maddaford.
So far, there have been 10 absentee ballots and 22 early voter ballots that have been cast at the machines, Maddaford said.
Based on records from the Quay County Clerk’s office, as of Jan. 7, there are 2,282 eligible voters in districts 1, 2, 3 and 4, Maddaford said.
The breakout of voters in the districts in the election are:
l District 1 - 531
l District 2 - 582
l District 3 - 607
l District 4 - 562
Eligible voters can cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from today through Friday.
The city elections will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 4 at the following polling sites:
District 1: Del Norte Center, 400 N. Fourth St.
District 2: Tucumcari Recreation Center, 900 E. Laughlin Ave.
District 3: Tucumcari High School Auditorium, 724 W. Gamble Ave.
District 4: Tucumcari School Federal Credit Union, 1608 S. Rock Island St .
