The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department. According to reports:

Saturday
l At 1:55 a.m., female reported a prowler in her backyard on South Eighth Street. The officer advised that the female subject had heard someone in her back yard and the subject had lit a trash barrel on fire. The fire was out when the officer arrived. After a check of the area, no one was found.
l At 8:19 a.m., a male called to report that he had hit a deer traveling westbound on Interstate 40 west of Tucumcari. The caller said his car would not start. New Mexico State Police were called to the scene.
l At 1:40  p.m., a female reported that someone was in the street on South Jackson. The officer advised that the female subject fell and hit her head and that EMS was called. The female subject refused medical services.

Sunday
l At 9:40 a.m., a female reported that there had been a theft at a motel on East Tucumcari Boulevard.
The officer advised that subjects had spent the night at the motel and left without paying. The officer said that the subjects had stayed two nights and a small amount of marijuana was found in the room.

Monday
l At 8:47 p.m., a male reported vandalism to a vehicle on South First Street. The officer advised that the rear tires of a vehicle had been slashed.
l At 8:58 a.m., a female reported graffiti on a back door at a restaurant on South First Street. The officer advised that the graffiti was unreadable and the markings were made with a permanent market.
l At 9:34 a.m., a male reported that vandalism to a vehicle. The officer reported that the someone had shot the windshield on the van several times with a BB gun.
l At 5:27 p.m., a male reported that there had been a fuel spill in the parking lot of a retail business on West Tucumari Boulevard.
l At 5:37 p.m., several  grass fires were reported on the northside of 540 Loop Road in the area of Section Line Road. The Logan Fire Department responded.
l At 6:35 p.m., the Sheriff's Office request assist from the Tucumcari Police Department during a repossession. The officer said the homeowner stated that they were taking things from the residence.
