Ten Quay County Senior 4-H members participated in the 85th Annual State 4-H Conference in Las Cruses on July 14-18.


Carmen Runyan and Georgia Mitchell served on the State Leadership Team as Ambassadors. Their role included conducting leadership workshops and hosting award ceremonies and dances.


The following 4-H members received awards:
l Lisa Mitchell was awarded a trip to National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Georgia for her outstanding Beef Record book.


l The Home Economics Bowl Team of Chris Arias, Taylor Atwood, Carmen Runyan and Patrick Wiegel placed first and will be competing in the national contest in Denver in January.


l The Home Economics Skill a Thon Team of Patrick Wiegel, Taylor Atwood and Chris Arias placed second and Chris Arias was fifth high individual and Taylor Atwood was second high individual.


l The Livestock Skill-a-Thon Team of Lindsey Jennings, Richard Rush, Chase Thompson and Lisa Mitchell placed second with Richard Rush placing as the fourth high Individual.


l The Land Team of Lindsey Jennings, Patrick Wiegel and Richard Rush placed fourth with Richard Rush placing as high point individual.


l The Livestock Judging Team of Lisa Mitchell, Lindsey Jennings, Richard Rush and Chase Thompson placed fifth.
