The National New Deal Association’s traveling exhibit of New Mexico’s photo-documented New Deal Treasures will be on display in Tucumcaru today through Sept. 7.

The New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD), through its New Mexico MainStreet Program, borrowed the exhibit from the National New Deal Association late last year, according to a press release.

“This exhibit is a great opportunity to share with younger generations the amazing creativity that evolved out of very trying times,” said NMEDD Cabinet Secretary Fred Mondragón in the release. “The WPA and the New Deal initiatives had a significant impact on our state both economically and culturally, and this wonderful exhibit provides a first hand look at the dynamic work that was created.”

New Deal Treasures will be on display at the Quay County Courthouse and Eastern New Mexico ArtSpace. Call ENMAS for times at 461-9908.
