This fishing report has been generated from the best information available from officers and anglers. Conditions encountered after the report is compiled may differ, however, as stream, lake and weather conditions alter fish and angler activities.

Conchas Lake
    Fishing was good using top water lures, crank baits, tubes, worms, brush hogs, jerk baits and jigs for small-mouth bass and largemouth bass. Most of the bass were small. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits and bottom bouncer/worm rigs for walleye and white bass. Most of the good action again this week was on the north side of the lake. Night fishing was good using liver, night crawlers, shrimp and dough bait for catfish. 

Ute lake
    Fishing for white bass was very good using top water lures, Lytle Secrets, Kastmasters and crank baits. Fishing for small-mouth bass was fair-to-good using top water lures, lipless crank baits, tubes and spinner baits. A few largemouth bass were taken on tubes, top water lures and worms. Fishing for catfish was very good for anglers using liver, dough baits and night crawlers.

Catches of the week
Ute Lake
On Aug.t 28, Dal Walters of Dalhart, Texas, caught a 3.84-pound small-mouth bass. He was using a top water lure.

Conchas Lake:
There were no reported catches of the week for Conchas Lake.
