Organizers are making the final plans for the  Nara Visa Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering which will be Sept. 19-21 at theOld School Community Center in Nara Visa.
At the event, the top honor comes with the   presentation of the Buck Ramsey Heritage Award. It recognizes an individual from Northeastern New Mexico or the Texas Panhandle who has a strong commitment to agricultural, preservation of land and passes along values and heritage, said Nara Visa Cowboy Gathering Director Renee’ Rinestine.
Harry Hopson of the Triangle ranch near Mosquero was presented last year’s award.
This year’s events are:

Friday, Sept. 19
5:30 p.m. - Ice Cream Social
7 p.m. - Evening performance - Poetry and Music
   
Saturday, Sept. 20
Vendors, who will each have a Western theme, will be setting for the day.
7:30 a.m. - Chuckwagon Breakfast, $5
2 p.m. - Matinee performance - Poetry and Music
4 p.m. - Kids Dummy Roping
5:30 p.m. - Chuckwagon Steak Dinner - $8 for steak dinner, $5 for a hamburger
7 p.m. - Live Auction and evening performance - $5 charge. Presentation of the Buck Ramsey Heritage Award.

Sunday, Sept. 21
8:30 a.m. - Breakfast (donations are accepted)
9:30 a.m. - Cowboy Church
