Story Time begins Wednesday at library
Registration for Story Time at the Tucucmari Public Library begins Monday and will be ongoing during regular library hours.
Story Time, for children 2 and a half to 5 years old, will be on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. For more information call the library at 461-0295.
Chamber elects officers
The Tucumcari-Quay County Chamber of Commerce held election of officers during its August meeting. The officers are:
l Carole Keith president, her term expires June 2010
l Debbie Lafferty, as first vice president, her term expires June 2011, and
l John Everhart, second vice president, his term ends June 2009.
New area codes go
into effect Oct. 5.
Mandatory dialing for New Mexico’s new 575 area code goes into effect Oct. 5. Calls to the new 575 area code will require the correct area code to be completed.

Local artists to attend Albuquerque festival
Tucumcari artists will show their works at the 20th Anniversary of Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival in Albuquerque in October.
Mark and Bev Lake of Tucumcari will have their pottery and clay sculpture on display at the festival which is Oct. 3-5 and Oct. 10-12.
