The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
Sunday
l At 2:16 a.m., a male reported that a semi had jack-knifed across the road on south Mountain Road. An officer advised that a wrecker was enroute.
l At 3:00 p.m., a couple traveling through town came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report the female’s wallet had been stolen at the new rest stop at the state line. An officer advised they contact the State Police for help with the incident.
l At 11:14 p.m., a male reported that an electrical pole was down on west Route 66 by the old truck and sparks were flying. An officer advised that the pole was not down, but the lamp piece had broken off and the wire was hitting the metal creating blue sparks.
Monday
l At 10:01 p.m., several callers reported that a woman was standing on Highway 209 waving a flashlight. A Quay County Sheriff’s deputy advised that a vehicle had broken down and they were waiting for someone they knew to come give them assistance.
Tuesday
l At 10:48 a.m., a male caller requested a welfare check on an elderly individual at a residence on south Second Street. The officers made contact and advised that all was OK.
l At 11:40 a.m., a female reported an unwanted subject at a retail store on west Route 66. The officer advised that the subject had left the area prior to their arrival.
l At 5:01 p.m., a anonymous caller reported a domestic dispute at a residence on east Rankin. The officer advised that it was a verbal argument and that one of the parties was going to stay at a different location for the night.
l At 9:24 p.m., a anonymous caller reported underage drinking at a residence on south Jackson Street. An officer issued one citation for allowing self to be served.
Wednesday
l At 12:14 p.m., a female reported a possible fight on east Tucumcari Boulevard. Officers spoke with the parties involved and advised that all was OK.
l At 2:56 p.m., a male reported a theft at a residence on south Third Street. The officer advised that the male subject will come into the police department and file a complaint.
l At 3:37 p.m., a male reported a possible burglary at a business on north Rock Island Street. The caller said that a subject had been seen on the video surveillance. Officers checked the area and building and advised that all was OK.
l At 6:05 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an unwanted subject at a business on east Tucumcari Boulevard. An officer advised that the subject left and all was OK.
l At 6:38 p.m., a male reported a fight on west Miel De Luna Avenue. The caller told officers that his brother had been attacked on Rock Island Street. The officer advised that the victim will come to the police depart to fill out a statement.
l At 6:51 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a fight in progress at a residence on south Sixth Street. An officer advised that one of the subjects had left prior to their arrival.
l At 8:37 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an intoxicated subject at a motel on west Tucumcari Boulevard. One male subject was arrested and transported to the Quay County Detention Center (QCDC).
Thursday
l At 7:51 p.m., an anonymous caller reported an un-wanted subject at a motel on west Route 66. An officer made contact with the subject and advised that they were leaving and would not return for the night.
l At 8:48 p.m., a male reported a power outage at a retail store on west Route 66. An officer advised that the power was out at that store only and the electric company has been notified.
l At 9:50 p.m., a anonymous caller reported suspicious subjects on East Heman. One male subject was arrested for an outstanding Municipal Court warrant and transported to the QCDC.
l At 10:24 p.m., a male caller reported a fight at a retail store on south Second Street. An officer advised that it was a verbal argument and both parties were asked to leave the store.
