The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
Friday
At 3:04 a.m., a female reported a theft at a business on east Route 66 Boulevard. A subject wearing a black hat and white jacket had stolen a 30-pack case of Budweiser beer.

At 8:06 a.m., the Quay County Sheriff’s Department received several reports of a male subject walking with a baby along the westbound lane of Interstate-40, and it appeared that the subject’s vehicle had broken down.  A Sheriff’s deputy advised that the subject’s vehicle was out of gas and the officer had taken gas to the vehicle.

At 8:14 a.m., a female reported vandalism to her vehicle and requested an officer to her residence on south Jackson Street.

At 5:06 p.m., a male requested an officer in reference to a broken window on the door to the office of a business on east Tucumcari Boulevard.

At 8:12 p.m., a female called the Logan Police Department and requested an officer to a motel on south US 54 in Logan. The caller reported that she was kicking out her boyfriend and did not want any problems. 

Saturday
At 3:59 a.m., an anonymous caller reported a shoplifting incident at a business on south U.S. Highway 54 to the Logan Police Department.

At 1:19 p.m., a male reported a hit and run in a parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on south First Street and requested an officer to come to talk to witnesses.

At 3:00 p.m., a male requested an officer to a residence on south Seventh Street because he and his wife were fighting, and she had hit him in the face.  The wife called  and reported that she wanted her husband out of her house because he had brought drug paraphernalia into the house and she did not want that or him in her house.

At 6:38 p.m., an anonymous caller reported that there were goats in the park on north Second Street.

At 9:13 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the high school parking lot. The caller said the vehicle was circling the parking lot and going very slow. An officer advised it was a parent teaching a child how to drive.

At 12:35 p.m., a female reported subjects riding 4-wheelers recklessly on Quay Road AK.

Sunday
At 5:20 p.m., several callers reported goats at the park on north Second Street.

At 7:01 p.m., Central Security reported an alarm had been set off at a residence on south Third Street. An officer advised that a door was kicked in, but nothing was taken from the house.

At 11:22 p.m., a female reported that her vehicle had been broken into about 10 minutes ago. She said that about five people were involved, and they had stolen a blue bag and an aluminum briefcase containing a Sirius satellite radio.

Monday
At 6:27 a.m., a male reported a larceny and requested an officer to a business on Mountain Road. The caller said he paid a subject to take him from Oklahoma City, Okla. to Albuquerque. When they stopped at a truck stop, the subject left him there, and the caller did not know the subject’s direction of travel. An officer advised that authorities in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico Arizona, Colorado, Kansas and Utah were on the lookout for the vehicle.

At 8:32 a.m., an anonymous caller requested an officer to the elementary school on south Eleventh Street in reference to graffiti on the playground equipment.

At 4:15 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a trash can on fire on west Railroad Avenue.

At 6:59 p.m., a female reported there was a subject standing in the median on south First Street asking people for money.
