Turning two...
Payson Ray Nials will turn 2 years old on Saturday. Payson is the son of Dustin and Relissa Nials. He's the grandson of Robin and Aleta Smith and Ray and Jo Ann Nials. His big sister is Rilee Jo Nials. Payson will share his birthday with his aunt, Tina Smith, as she ties the knot with Ty Cason this Saturday in Tucumcari. Payson likes choo-choo trains, riding horses and catching bugs.
Graduates...
Army Pvt. Bryan R. Tena has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills. Tena is the son of Sherry Riggs of Tucumcari. Tena graduated in 2005 from Santa Rosa High School. He is now studying at Fort Gordon in George, Riggs said.
Exchanging vows...
Jennie L. Russell of Farwell, Texas, and Aaron L. Clark of Amarillo, Texas, will exchange vows Saturday at the Church of Christ, at 3rd and Kilgore, in Portales.
The bride elect's uncle Jim Purcell, of Big Spring, Texas, will officiate at the wedding.
The bride elect's parents are Jim and Linda Russell of Portales and her grandparents are Bill and the late Margie Purcell and the late Mary Ann Russell. The groom-to-be is the son of Pam Clark of Hale Center, Texas, and Tom and Myong Clark of Leavenworth, Kan. His grandmother is Olga Nicholson, also of Hale Center.
The wedding party will include: matron of honor, Christy Ledford; bridesmaids, Cristi Mogg, of Perryton, Texas, Sandi Roberts of Plainview, Texas, and Chancey Rusler of Canyon, Texas; best man Bryan Ledford of Amarillo; and groomsmen, Chance Mogg of Perryton, Trey Rogers of Wolfforth, Texas and Tony Wilkerson of Canyon; ushers, Ryan Best, Richard Roberts and John Rusler; flowergirls, Makenna and Brynlee Ledford, Madi and Macee Wilde, Kambry Roberts, Kennedy Rusler and Racee Rogers; ringbearer, Cayden Clark; and bell Ringer Liam Russell.
The bride-elect is an Industry Image and Relations Program Coordinator for Dairy MAX and the groom to be is a salesman, Great Western Distributing.
