The following is a sample of calls received during the last few days by the central dispatch office for Quay County, based at the Tucumcari Police Department.
Friday
l At 12:42 a.m., a Tucumcari Police Officer advised that two female juvenile subjects and two male juvenile subjects jumped the fence at the public swimming pool on south Fifth Street. The officer advised the juveniles were transported to the Tucumcari Police Department and parents of the juvenile subjects were notified and would pick them up at the TPD.
l At 7:52 a.m., a female reported someone threw a rock through a window at the bus barn on west Barnes Avenue. An officer advised rocks were thrown through two windows sometime between 4:30 p.m. the previous day and the time of the call.
l At 10:27 a.m., a female came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report someone tried to break into her home on south Fourth Street about an hour earlier. An officer advised he spoke with neighbors, who said they had the same experience the previous week and the neighborhood would be placed on a special watch.
l At 12:21 p.m., a female reported a 5-foot-long red racer snake in her backyard on south Monroe Street.
l At 6:39 p.m., a Tucumcari Police Officer advised a vehicle hit with a shot from a paintball gun on east Tucumcari Boulevard.
l At 12:45 p.m., a female requested assistance because she had accidently shut the car door after vacuuming it, and locked her 15-month-old child inside the vehicle at a carwash on west Route 66. The caller said the vehicle was running because she had turned on the AC for the baby. Tucumcari rescue units responded.
Saturday
l At 5:53 a.m., a Tucumcari Police Officer reported two mules were out in front of an apartment building on south First Street and were heading west on Charles Avenue.
l At 2:32 p.m., a female came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report a stolen laptop computer.
Sunday
l At 5:34 p.m., a male reported a gas skip of $28.51 at a convenience store on south First Street.
l At 6:58 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a tree had fallen in the middle of the road on east Smith Street. An officer advised the city street department was contacted and the tree was removed.
l At 7:07 p.m., a male reported a tree between two houses on east Main Street had fallen but had not damaged either house. The caller was concerned it might fall farther onto the power lines. An officer advised the fallen tree was stuck in another tree and was OK.
Monday
l At 3:17 a.m., a female came to the Tucumcari Police Department to report she woke up and her daughter was gone. The female later reported that her daughter had come home.
l At 4:06 p.m., an anonymous caller reported a large snow cone from a vehicle stand had fallen on a vehicle on west Tucumcari Boulevard.
l At 9:06 p.m., an anonymous caller reported about four or five juvenile subjects were walking north on south Third Street hitting mailboxes.
