City commission to hold hearing on effluent water use
The city of Tucumcari will hold a public hearing regarding its use of discharge water and effluent from the Tucumcari Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The hearing is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 8, 2009, in the Commission chambers at City Hall, 215 E. Center St.
Eligible activities and categories for use of the wastewater and effluent will be described, according to a city news release.
Anyone may attend to submit project ideas, provide data and testimony or to obtain other pertinent information.

Alfalfa cubing plant announced
Hay-Rite Inc. of Amarillo has announced the opening of an alfalfa cubing plant in Tucumcari.
The plant, located at Coronado Road and Tucumcari Boulevard, will produce bagged alfalfa cubes and ship to feed stores and retail customers throughout the Southwest.
The plant is scheduled to be in full production later this fall, and will be operated by Jason Willey of Tucumcari, Hay-Rite Inc. vice president.
