Michael Martinez, a business major at ENMU and 2008 Tucumcari graduate, received the honor of being on the Deans’ Honor Roll list for the Spring 2010 semester. This esteemed honor is based on taking at least 15 hours or more

and earning a grade point average of 3.25 or greater. Michael is the son of Joe and Rita Martinez of Conchas Dam, grandson of Manuelita Garcia of Tucumcari and Irene Martinez of Las Vegas.

Zoo youth program

Just wanted to send you a picture of the Zoo to You progam that was here on July 6th for the library. In the picture is a staff member from the Rio Grande Zoo holding a turtle. There was 156 people who stopped by to see some of the animals that were brought from the Albuquerque Rio Grande Zoo.

Birthday

Ethan Hendren celebrated his 5th birthday on Sunday July 11th. Helping him celebrate were his parents Anthony and Cynthia Hendren, big brother Ruben Hendren and lots of family and friends at the Elks Lodge. He had a swimming party. His grandparents are Fred and Mary Romero and Dennis and Ruby Hendren.

Donation

The Tucumcari Public Library received a $500.00 memorial donation from Legends of the Grand Valley located in Grand Junction, CO in memory of Minnie LaVeta Shay. The money was used to purchase a game table and chairs. The game table is very popular with children and adults.
