The 2010 State 4-H Horse Show and Quay County 4-H Rodeo contestants are coming to town.
Quay County is set to again host the State 4-H Horse Show, as it has done for more than 30 years.
People who enjoy horses can come out to the Quay County Fairgrounds arena at 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday. 4-Hers demonstrate their skill and control over their horses during events such as showmanship, horsemanship and reining. Admission is free.
On the same days, attendees can stick around to watch the 2010 Quay County 4-H Rodeo.
Admission is $2 for adults and children 12 and under $1. The rodeo begins at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the fairgrounds arena.
Events include speed events such as barrels and poles, roping events including team roping and rough stock events such as steer and bull riding. The Quay County 4-H Drill Team is set to kick off each night with a mounted pattern and posting of the colors.
Quay County 4-Hers are very busy during this weekend as they help with the many activities and run a concession stand. Parents work beside their children, and some people volunteer even though they don't have children in 4-H.
