An Amarillo man died following a boating accident at Ute Lake State Park in Logan, state park officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Noah Escoto, 24, died on Aug. 15 as a result of injuries he sustained from a boating accident in Logan, said Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Mineral Department Public Information Officer Jodi Porter.
Porter said the accident occurred about 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 14. She said Escoto was a passenger on a jet ski and was thrown off when he was struck by a pontoon boat.
“Escoto was transported to Dan C. Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari,” Porter said. “He was then transferred to Southwest Regional Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.”
Porter said the accident remains under investigation.
This is the second death to occur at Ute Lake State Park this summer. On July 9, 2010, 31-year-old Mu’Allum Thayer of Portales drowned while swimming with two friends at Ute Lake.
