I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for welcoming me to

your community this past weekend. Speaking with New Mexicans from

Portales, Clovis, Melrose, San Jon, and Tucumcari, I was honored that

you welcomed me into your communities and you opened up about the

challenges you are facing. As I traveled the east side of the Third

Congressional District, I appreciated the fact that no matter how big

our district is, we share common values and concerns. Small business

owners, cattlemen, farmers, students, retirees, veterans, mothers and

fathers are frustrated but resilient and dedicated to our future for

our families and our culture.

I was proud to see the progress taking place across the region. From

the North American Wind Research and Training Center at Mesalands, to

the infrastructure investments in the Hull Street Bridge in Clovis and

the small businesses that are more than surviving but finding new ways

to invest in Tucumcari, It's clear to me that New Mexicans are making

this economy grow and I will do everything I can to support their

work.

For all of those that I spoke and met with, thank you for sharing your

ideas and concerns. I'm hope we can continue to work together to make

New Mexico and our local economies strong on the east side of the

Third District.

Thank you,
