Work session being held
The Tucumcari City Commission will hold a Work Session 9 a.m., Nov. 15 at City Hall to discuss water rates.
The Commissioners set up the workshop during Thursday's commission meeting, where citizens spoke out about their displeasure over the rate increase.
Several residents have reported their bill increasing five-fold — from $20 to $100.
Police conducting saturation patrol
Tucumcari Police Department will be conducting saturation patrols during the month of November. Officers will be patrolling for unbelted drivers, unrestrained children, liquor law violators and all other traffic violations.
No charges filed against officer
No charges have been filed against a former Tucumcari police officer who resigned amid a criminal investigation by New Mexico State Police, said state police Public Information Officer Lt. Tim Q. Johnson
Johnson confirmed the officer was the subject of an investigation on Oct. 7, but said "the identity of the officer and the nature of the investigation" could not be revealed.
Tucumcari Police Chief Jason Braziel said the unidentified officer has resigned.
