Annaliah Danielle Vargas was born Nov. 21, 2011 in Clovis. Proud parents are Daniel and Diedra Vargas both of Tucumcari. Grandparents are Jennifer and Michael Esquibel, and Julian Martinez Great grandparents are Victor and Gloria Arguello and Bennie and Bernice Martinez all of Tucumcari.

Travis Garcia of Tucumcari won the New Mexico Preps's week four player of the week for small school hoops (2A - 1B) after dropping 39 points against Monte Del Sol.

Gift delivery

On Dec. 17th, the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 77 and the Legion Riders Chapter 15 escorted by Officer Wade of the Logan Police Department visited several homes in Logan bearing gifts for the residents.

They were met with smiles on their faces and tears of joy in the eyes. Then in the afternoon, they went to the Autumn Blessing nursing home for a Christmas party with the residents. Santa Claus was present to give gifts, hugs and hand shakes to the residents.

Various Auxiliary and Riders members made lap quilts that were given to everyone along with other gifts.

On Sunday, three of the auxiliary women went to the Veterans Hospital Christmas party in Amarillo. They shared gifts, treats, smiles and hugs with the Veterans. Thank you to everyone that had a part in making this all happen. God Bless Our Veterans
