Robert Doughty of Tucumcari was named the district attorney for the twelfth judicial district. KOBTV, channel 67 out of Albuquerque, could finally be picked up through cable and antenna after a 100-watt receiver was placed on the Beasley Mesa near Montoya.

Tucumcari Mayor James E. Saltz Jr. proclaimed Feb. 17-21 as National Future Farmers Of America week.

The New Mexico State Police in Tucumcari had a busy month in February. They seized over 305 pounds of marijuana during a two-week span.

Robert R. Hathaway of the Arch Hurley Conservancy District was named as the B and PW Boss of the year. He was presented a plaque by Dorothy Kvols.

Mickey Murphy was the new owner of the Western Auto Store in Tucumcari and held a grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
